[She takes a deep breath, raising her chin and looking more determined,] My family needs me right now. I don't know what kind of place this is, but I need to go back.
[There's a small cry from off screen,] Eevee!

[Mary picks the little creature up,] I don't know what kind of animal this is, how this device even works, or where I am. Would someone please explain? I truly need to get home.

[She's more serious now,] That's amazing! I'm really worried about everyone at home, but besides the walking it seems like it is pretty interesting here!

[dangerousidol]

I was told that time stops there while you're here. [She sighs as she remembers the walking.] It's a lot of walking, but it makes getting to an Inn so much nicer.

It does? Things are a mess where I came from. [For starters, someone just attempted to murder her, though she's lost count of how many times someone has tried to do that.] Walking through all this wilderness still seems dangerous. I have Cassius, but I've never been in the wilderness before. I've spent my whole life in London.

[dangerousidol]

Same here... [Her world will end if her Sempai can't stop it...] It's not too dangerous if you stick to the road. Himiko, my Sylveon, was an Eevee back then. She protected me. We even caught another Pokémon along the way!

Did they help keep you company? I'm feeling lonely already. [Her eevee makes a cute cry and jumps onto her lap, making Mary laugh.] These animals are really smart, aren't they?

[dangerousidol]

Yeah~ I've got quite a few now, and I love them all. [She giggles softly.] Pokémon, not animals. And yeah! They're about as smart as people, and some apparently are smarter!

[fairy_tale_trainer]

Right! Pokèmon. It's a strange name. So Cassius is as smart as a person? [The eevee mews in response,] I suppose so! He seems to understand me quite well.

[dangerousidol]

It is. And they are. Himiko right here- [A pink and white Pokémon with ribbons is on the screen beside Rise.]- always knew when I needed her. Now that she's a Sylveon, she can use her feelers to calm me down.

That's amazing! Do all pokèmon have abilities like that?

[dangerousidol]

Not all of them. They are all unique, like people!

[fairy_tale_trainer]

I didn't mean the same ability. So each one has different abilities?

[dangerousidol]

Oh. Yes. They do. Some of the abilities are specific. Then there's abilities that several different types can have. What Himiko does is unique to her kind only.

[fairy_tale_trainer]

Maybe Cassius will become one too. It would be nice if we could help calm down people who just arrive.

You'll have to give him lots of affection and Poképuffs!

Well, the affection is easy! [She nuzzles her face into him while scratching behind an ear,] But what are pokèpuffs?

[Rise digs around in a bag and pulls out a pink cupcake treat.] These! They're made for Pokémon, and they make them happy~

Around New Bark, I think. Or I could send you some. I work for a sweets shop, so I could send you a few things! Oh... I never gave you my name! I'm Rise Kujikawa.

How rude of me! I'm Mary Weather Hargreaves. It's nice to meet you, miss Kujikawa. [She has to say the name slow, but aside from that she pronounces it fairly well.]
